We’ve had torrential rains today and my feeders almost seem to groan under the weight of scores of hungry, soggy birds. This poor Red Cardinal seems at the end of his rope. I hope his energy was revived by the feed. ❧

I think practical. The bird seems young and it is probably her first snow fall so why not take as many seeds as the beak will hold? ❧

Anyone who has ever played “Angry Birds” knows that look! Northern Cardinals are endlessly enchanting. I seem to be over-run with them these days. I counted seven at the feeder today– 3 males and 4 females. So stay tuned for more Cardinal pictures. ❧
