Cullasaja means “honey locust place” in the Cherokee language. It runs through a gorge that has multiple waterfalls and scenic overlooks. The gorge is part of the trail followed by Spanish explorer Hernando DeSoto in 1540. ❧

He apparently was in Florida first. Hopefully he was not in NC in the winter. Would this make him the first snow bird if he headed back to Florida? Actually think he headed west. Probably too many insects and other nasty creatures in Florida.
